Thoughts on Food

Here's my quick-n-dirty restaurant recommendations. Its a work in progess (as is everything in this site).

Beaufort Grocery
117 Queen Street
Beaufort, NC 28516-2213

Love this place. Little restaurant hidden away in Beaufort. Aunt Marion's apple & onion salad is one of best with the cranberry vinaigrette dressing. Girfriend recommends the duck for an entree. I'll take anything. There is a dessert that is a pastry stuffed with ice cream and served in a whiskey sauce that is a killer.

Reservations recommend. If its just two of you ask for the table in the front window. That's the best spot. Appetizers, entrees, deserts and wine will run you $75-$100 for two.

Italian. Not much on atmosphere, but the they have excellent pasta dishes (the penne silciliana is excellent) and great pizza (especially some of the non-traditional pizzas).

Cost is very reasonable for the quality of the food. Under $20 for two.
